If x is equal to 49.5 percent of \(\frac{11}{23}\) of 0.996, then

A) 0.20 < x < 0.25

B) 0.25 < x < 0.30

C) 0.30 < x < 0.35

D) 0.35 < x < 0.40

E) 0.40 < x < 0.45

We can solve this problem through estimation.

x = 0.495 * 11/23 * 0.996 ≈ 0.5 * 0.5 * 1 = 0.25

We see that x is approximately 0.25; however, since the actual numbers are less than their respective estimated numbers, the actual product is less than 0.25.

Answer: A
