The OA is choice B. Here's how:

According to the given condition, either x or y must be 0, but not both.

If x = 0, then y must be positive in order to get -8 result. Thus, y > x
If y = 0, then x must be negative in order to get -8 result. Thus, again y > x

Therefore,
Choice B is correct.
