Well, you know that x + y < z

A: 2x-z
--------------------
B: -y

Well,

x+y < z
x - z < -y

Now, you compare "2x - z" and "x - z". Indeed, you have to compare only "2x" and "x". Since you don´t know if x is positive or negative, the answer is D
