Faces of the six-sided dice: 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
The total possible ways: 6*6 = 36 (1,1)….(6,6)
The probability that the result is either a 3 and a 4 or a 5 and a prime number
either a 3 and a 4: (3,4) | (4,3)
5 and a prime number: (5,2), (5,3), (5,5), (2,5), (3,5)
So all the possible results with the conditions are 7.

The probability that the result is either a 3 and a 4 or a 5 and a prime number is :
7/ 36

it is rolled 2 times, I think that. So it would be 7/36

Re: Probabiliy problem. [#permalink]
P(A=3&4)=2/6*1/6=1/18

P(B=5&prime number)=5/36

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A&B)

It's 1/18+5/36-5/(18*36)=(36+5*18-5)/(18*36)=121/(18*12)

This excludes or both set. When or both set is included, the answer is 60%

Hi guys! This question appeared on the Cracking the GRE 2019 premium version from Princeton Review. The book has a graphical explanation that did not convince me. Coud anyone provide me an insight on this?

When a pair of six-sided dice, each with faces numbered 1 to 6, is rolled once, what is the probability that the result is either a 3 and a 4 or a 5 and a prime number?
