(B) projecting the effects of change in a natural system from observation of a representative case

(C) drawing an analogy between a natural system and a mechanical device

From the stem the example of the ecosystem and the watch is an analogy NOT an observation

CLAIM: Modern technology does not allow us allow us to improve on nature= IF any major technologically induced changes in a natural system THEN changes are likely to be detrimental to that system.

ASSUMPTION AND PROOF SET:

IF open the back of your watch, IF close your eyes, and IF poke a pencil into the exposed works, THEN the almost certain result would be damage to the watch

Living organisms too, IF subjected to technological alteration, THEN will almost certainly be damaged rather than improved.

Question: The argument above is developed by = select logical connectors present in this argument

(A) citing a consensus of opinion about technology among informed observers <=> NOT PRESSENT
(B) projecting the effects of change in a natural system from observation of a representative case <=> NOT PRESENT
(C) drawing an analogy between a natural system and a mechanical device <=> PRESENT
(D) analyzing a natural system in terms of its constituent parts <=> NOT PRESENT
(E) examining the results of technological innovations of the past <=> NOT PRESENT

Answer must be C
