can someone explain to me why "took exception to" rather than "discard"? my guess is that so far "discard" means "get read of smth that is no longer necessary but the bill is smth completely new.
what would you say?
btw, "take exception to" means challenge, right?

take exception to means to object strongly whereas discarded means to get rid of something no longer useful
