Inured and cauterized are used in the sense getting accustomed to something, especially something unpleasant.

Unpleasant being the keyword here. Attuned is not used in the same sense.

Can someone explain why inured isn't a correct option here since 'attuned' is similar in meaning to 'inured' i.e. accustomed to something.

cauterized doesn't mean getting used to something. Not sure why it is the answer.

cauterized is a method used in past to prevent infection therefore it is mean immune to
but today it is lost this meaning therefore attune is more modern to satisfy the answer
