Official Explanation from Magoosh

The keywords are "endeared...misanthropic bent." Misanthropic readers are those who have a general ill-will towards humanity. Therefore, the travel writer must be expressing some negative attitude. (C) means interpreting others behavior as solely motivated by self-interest. A misanthropic person is prone to looking cynically upon the actions of others.

(A), while negative, does not fit the context.
(B) would not endear the writer to misanthropes.
(D) means talkativeness.
(E) means excessively fawning.

Failed to understand the 1st portion . Need explanation to this portion.

Questions like this one are difficult in their difficulty per se not because they are difficult to test something.

The key word is misanthropic and the only word that matches this meaning is c:

The others are out of scope. However it is not a good question that tastes your logic to the limit.

Do not practice such questions.
