indifference also means lack of interest, unconcerned. then it will have same meaning as disinterest.

indifference can mean negligent or not caring for it.

disinterested means not showing any partiality or favoritism.

That means the scientist was not objective. He looked at the matter in a subjective way. I.E he was too engaged in

So, eventually, he did not have disinterest. first blank

As a consequence, he distorted the evidences to adapt them to his own view
