Can you please explain this again? I don't understand why the first blank would be "keen".

I thought the first blank would be something on the lines of "unformed" and then the second blank would be "formed", because the first blank illustrates the young peoples' current, less developed sensitivities, compared to adults, whose sensitivities have matured.

Thanks!

Hi Cindy,

When you select the 2nd blank as Calloused (emotionally hardened), native and sophisticated are not compatible with this. Hence, Keen will be the choice.
On the other hand, keen people would make immediate response rather than native and sophisticated people.
Hope this clarifies. :)

Why it can't be 'native'? Young people's inherent sensitivities become emotionally ignorant as they group up. Hence, young people have a purer and immediate response to our environment.

'Keen' makes sense too but I don't see how I can select the right one.

The meaning of the sentence is the following:

even though young people do not have sharp X they are still able to have a response more than satisfied to the external stimuli

So Keen is the answer. Native is out of scope.

Why can't it be option F for the second blank?
