Disputable and axiomatic are almost opposites! Axiomatic means accepted as true or obviously true.

For example, the statement that 'a straight line may be drawn between any two points' is a geometry axiom. The statement is considered so obvious that it does not need to be proven.

The clue is in this sentence fragment:

because some scientific tenets are in conflict with some religious ones, these tenets cannot all be correct.

This implies that these tenets are not indisputably true.

And since the first sentence fragment states:

Science and religion each have core tenets that are considered ____________

it means the same thing as "not indisputably true", considering the second sentence fragment and its meaning.

An axiom is a self-evident, an indisputable truth. Therefore, axiomatic is the correct choice.
