If you dont feel like memorizing another formula, try this

triangle 3 sides = 0 diagonals
Square 4 sides = 2 diagonals
Pentagon 5 sides = 5 diagonals
Hexagon 6 sides = 9 diagonals
see the pattern?

just bump up each increase in diagonals by 1 more than the previous bump.

7 sides = 14 diagonals
8 sides = 20 diagonals
9 sides = 27 diagonals
10 sides = 35 diagonals

A diagonal consists of 2 points, so choosing 2 points out of 10 => 10C2 => 45. Now we subtract all the lines (which are the edges of the polygon) formed by connecting two adjacent points, so 45 - 10 = 35.

Therefore, the answer is 35.

Notes about diagonal
#Formula for total number of diagonal of any regular polygon = n(n-3)/2 here n is number sides
Number of diagonal can be drawn from any vertex = n-3


#length of diagonal of a square= s√2 here 's' is length of side

#length of Main diagonal of a cube= s√3
however, length of "face" diagonal of a cube = s√2


# length of diagonal of a rectangle = √(a^2+b^2) , here a & b are sides of rectangle
# length of diagonal of a Solid rectangle = √(a^2+b^2+c^2) ,here a,b & c are sides of solid rectangle
