If n divided by 35 has a remainder of 3, what is the remainder when n is divided by 7?
\(Number = (Divisor)(Quotient) + Remainder\)
\(n = 35Q + 3\)
Q can be 1, 2, 3, ....
When Q = 1, n = 38
When Q = 2, n= 73 and so on
We can clearly see,
When 38 is divided by 7, the remainder is 3
When 73 is divided by 7, the remainder is 3
So, the remainder would be
3
