Re: 4x + y + 3z = 34 4x + 3z = 21 What is the value of y? [#permalink]
Given that 4x + y + 3z = 34 and 4x + 3z = 21 and we need to find the value of y

4x + y + 3z = 34
4x + 3z = 21

Subtracting both of them we get
4x + y + 3z - (4x + 3z ) = 34 - 21 = 13
=> 4x + y + 3z - 4x - 3z = 13
=> y = 13

So, Answer will be 13
Hope it helps!
