Hi

I took the Manhattan GRE practice test1 yesterday and scored 312 (V-154, Q-158). I skipped the long RC and DI questions to save time. I had just 1 min left after each section. @ Carcass, any tips on which questions should I attempt first? In actual GRE test can I go back to a previous question? My target is 305+. Thanks!

Yes you can go back and forth throughout the entire verbal or quant section of the GRE. You can mark also a question and back later on.

On the quant section I would suggest to solve first the QCQ which are roughly 40% of the total questions in the section and so you should have more time for PS and Di (which are just 3)

On the verbal section solve first SE because you have the 50/50 strategy: two pairs of synonyms (usually) and two words completely out of scope. The process should be fastest and save time for tough RC and TC

On the other hand, some people should attack first RC.

I, for instance, go for SE first and then RC which is my strong point

Hi

@ Carcass thank you for your expert suggestions on how to manage time and improve my score. I will do some more mock tests. I did the GREprepclub paid tests. Those are good with lucid explanation. Same look and feel as original GRE test.
