Hello GRE Prep Club,
I recently took GRE for the first time, scored a 309 (V151 and Q158), and am now looking for some advice on next steps.
Background: I studied for the test for about 6 months, 3 of which were dedicated months. Prior to prepping for GRE, I had studied and taken the GMAT. I have the basic concepts down, just making mistakes on GRE specific stuff.
I am hoping to raise my score to 320-325 and wondering how to get there. I realize that my weak point in Verbal are TC and SE (spend too much time and dont follow a consistent strategy) and in Quant are mainly Advanced Geometry and Combination/Probabilities. Overall, I tend to make some silly mistakes which cost me questions here and there
I am considering paying for either Greg Mat or Magoosh and following their study plans (either 1 month or 2 months). My concerns are:
1. Whether following study plans offered by either services will help me achieve my goals (considering my concepts are sounds)?
2. If following one of these study plans will help me in my unique case, which of the two services are better suited to my needs?

Congratulations on a 309! Trust me not a bad score, considering you appeared the test for the first time and studied on your own.
Now, onto how to get a better score. I would not side with Gregmat or Magoosh as I haven't used either of them. But, I have heard a lot about Gregmat's verbal videos and that they help a lot. Maybe you would want to try using it for a week and then decide?
Answering your concerns:
1. Whether following study plans offered by either services will help me achieve my goals (considering my concepts are sounds)?- I would rather say construct a study plan of your own. These prep company's study plan might help but no one know your strengths and weaknesses as you yourself do. Just find the necessary resources you need to make alleviate those weaknesses. For e.g. You said your Quants(Advanced) is not good, find out why? Which topics or formulas do you usually miss, is there an alternate solution to the problem, or try making flash cards for the formula or use the club's error log (error log helped me a lot before the test to revise the concepts I usually missed). There are free resources around just use them in the best possible manner.
2. If following one of these study plans will help me in my unique case, which of the two services are better suited to my needs?- As I said previously, try getting a trial and decide it for yourself.
Also, I have improved my score from 303 to 323 within 2 months(full-time prep), mostly using free resources and constructing my own plan. And I know other people on the club who did too. So, maybe you'd want to try using the trial and use the club and decide it yourself.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your test experience. Before you choose any plan, it is important to understand your scores and your weak areas and then work on the relevant study plans accordingly.
Q158 means your concepts are decent but there are 2-3 topics where you are not conceptually good and also you are unable to solve hard and tricky GRE level questions.
Maths Study Plan:
GRE Maths style of questions started to get change in 2020. It is becoming more trickier and time-consuming as compared to the questions you would find on ETS Books and other material available on the internet. Basically, those books were published 6 to 20 years ago.
In order to get a high GRE score, you should solve tricky GRE questions on the Scholarden website. I would encourage you to check the recent test takers from have improved their scores. Some of them have improved the scores by even 35 points. Many students have scored between 320-338.
Please check all the recent test takers' reviews on Scholar Den.
V151 means you need to improve your reading skills and improve your conceptual understanding of how complex sentences work. No matter, how many questions you solve, without improving your weak areas, you can not get a high score.
Verbal Study Plan:
Go to ScholarDen video lessons, and learn about how complex sentences are structured.
After that go to readtheory dot org (FREE website) and improve your reading skills, the website will adjust your reading grades with respect to your performance. Once you reach grade 12, then you should move to more advanced GRE-type reading passages on aldaily dot com and other American articles. Please note that GRE tests analyze Grade 16 level reading skills.
After that, you can watch Verbal strategy videos on ScholarDen or any other platform, it's the same on every platform.
After strategies, solve ETS practice questions and for RC, use ETS big book passages.
