Becasue b <0 and depends on the fact you pick and integer negative or a fraction negative the result is different.

The FIRST rule is: when you deal with stems, fractions, and inequalities or else the FIRST thing to do is to simplify and reduce them.

See what is going on and then see if best to use numbers.

In this specific case algebra is the best approach

If b<0 and b is an integer
Would the answer be different?

if you insert b=-1/2

The two quantities are equal -1/2 both

If you insert -1 clearly the first statement is impossible because would be 0/ something which is undefined.

If you use b= -3

QA is 4 and QB is -3

The answer would be D or even wrong (see the zero in the numerator above)

The answer is C, so be careful when dealing with numbers to pick up
