If 4 n is divisible by 32 but not [#permalink]

48=2*2*2*2*3

Tricky one. The key part is the problem states which of the following COULD BE divisible by 48.

We know that\( 2^{2}\)N is divisible by\( 2^{5}\) but not \(2^{6}\). Thus, N MUST contain exactly “3 2’s” but potentially, an infinite amount of other factors (such as a 7,5,3 etc).

We are asked which of the following COULD BE divisible by 48 ie \(2^{4}\) *3.
Since each answer choice contains N which we are given has exactly “Three 2’s” and potentially, any other number of factors, as long as the coefficient in the answer choice contains atleast “One 2” For the denominator to “stuff into” then the numerator COULD be divisible by 48 since the only factor in N contained for sure is 2.

That would be choices A,B,C

frankslatery, can you please explain why N may contain any other factors, not 2?
