It is given that Kim purchased ๐ฅ items from an online store at a price of $ 10 each. The delivery charges for each of the first two items were $ 2.5 and for the rest it was $0.5 per item. We have to find the total amount Kim had to pay for her purchase.
Since, she purchased ๐ฅ items at a price of $10 each so the total price = Number of Items ร Price per item
x*10=$ 10x
Now, the delivery charges for first two items = $ 2.5 each So, the total charges for the first two items = 2 ร 2.5 = $ 5 The number of items remaining to be delivered = ๐ฅ โ 2 The charge for remaining items = $ 0.5 per item So, the total charge for the remaining (๐ฅ โ 2) items = (๐ฅ โ 2) ร 0.5 = $ (0.5๐ฅ โ1 )
Hence, the total amount she has to pay for her purchase = Total price of the ๐ฅ items + total delivery charges= 10๐ฅ + 0.5๐ฅ โ 1 + 5= 4 + 10.5x
