Given: x = 49.5 percent of 11/23 of 0.996
In other words, x = (49.5/100)(11/23)(0.996)
Notice that 49.5/100 is a little bit less than 0.5
And 11/23 is a bit less than 0.5. Aside: we know this because 11/22 = 0.5, so 11/23 is a bit less than 0.5
And 0.996 is a bit less than 1
So, x = (little bit less than 0.5)(bit less than 0.5)(a bit less than 1)
We know that (0.5)(0.5)(1) = 0.25
So, (little bit less than 0.5)(bit less than 0.5)(a bit less than 1) = a bit less than 0.25

Working from the last part of the math.
x= 0.495*(11/23)*0.996 = 0.236
which is clearly in range A.
