Hi all,

I took last a mock test on the ets platform, the ETS PowerPrep 1, i scored a V149 & Q165.

I don't know how to analyze these results.

On the first hand, i never prepared for the GRE ... it was a free shot. I am studying the GMAT for over a month now through an online course.

On the second hand, unlike the GMAT, i am a bit lost regarding the way to work on GRE verbal. I am a non native speaker (Moroccan, french native speaker) I don't know how to ace GRE Verbal.

Moreover, i would like to take the GRE on Feb 22th, so i have a month and a half to work for the GRE. The school I am targeting requires student to score above 65th percentile, so in verbal I need at least 10 points.

Hi,

I thought ETS provides you a detailed report of every question you got right or wrong.

However, it seems to quant you are good.

On verbal what do you need to know for ??

RC and CR are the same as those on the GMAT. RC, in my opinion, is an iota difficult.

TC and SE are new. Tell me the kind of information you need for.

Hi,

I need help in verbal in general.

I understood that there are 2 verbal sections on the GRE. On each section, there is 10 RC-CR questions and 10 TC and SE questions.
For RC - CR, since i am taking the egmat course i think i have good material to prepare for those and try to score 8-9 out 10 at best.
For TC - SE, i am more lost. I don't know how to get 5-6 out of 10 in order to be at 70th percentile. I don't find enough material to work with ...

Moreover, do you think that 6 weeks is enough to have a decent score in the GRE ? I'm dedicating 2 hours on weekdays and 6-7 hours each weekend day to study, i've doing that for the GMAT for over a month now.

In such a short amount of time it is difficult to improve , really, especially for a non-native speaker.

Be aware that contrary to the common belief it is not a vocanb test

Knowing words is important but not as important as to understand the meaning of the sentence

Thank you for ur reply. Yes I did read the PM before posting on the forum but the message I get is such that I don't know what forum it is or who is an admin there etc. There is nothing so I cant reach out to anyone to request for the access.

Hi Carcass,

I started to practice the official GRE questions from this website some days ago. However, I tried to log in and continue the practice today, and I got the restriction text that says, "You are not authorised to read this forum".
