We can solve this question using matching operations
Given:
Quantity A: 1/19 - 1
Quantity B: 1/18 - 1
Add 1 to both quantities:
Quantity A: 1/19
Quantity B: 1/18
At this point, we might recognize that 1/18 is greater than 1/19.
Answer: B
However, we can also continue using matching operations
Multiply both quantities by 19 to get:
Quantity A: 1
Quantity B: 19/18
Quantity B is still bigger!
Multiply both quantities by 18 to get:
Quantity A: 18
Quantity B: 19
Yep, Quantity B is must be bigger
