Given:
economy:luxury = 3:2
economy: sport = 4:3
We need to COMBINE these ratios.
Since both ratios include economy vehicles, we'll find equivalent ratios that share the same value for economy vehicles.
Take the top ratio, 3:2 and multiply both sides by 4 to get the equivalent ratio 12:8
Take the bottom ratio, 4:3 and multiply both sides by 3 to get the equivalent ratio 12:9
At this point, we can combine the ratios to get:
economy:luxury:sport = 12:8:9
What is the ratio of luxury cars to sport utility vehicles?
luxury:sport = 8:9
Answer: B

Sport = 3/4 * economy
