x=48
original price = x*2
original price = 48*2
= 96
x=72/1.5

Sale Price = S.P = 72$
We know that,
Sale Price = 150 % * Cost Price
S.P = (150/100) * C.P
S.P = 1.5 * C.P
S.P/1.5 = C.P
C.P = 72/1.5
C.P = 48$
So, the cost price is 48$
Retail Price = 200 % * Cost Price
R.P = (200/100) * C.P
R.P = 2 * C.P
R.P = 2 * 48
R.P = 96
So, the Retail Price was 96$.
The answer is:
B) 96
We know that,
Sale Price = 150 % * Cost Price
S.P = (150/100) * C.P
S.P = 1.5 * C.P
S.P/1.5 = C.P
C.P = 72/1.5
C.P = 48$
So, the cost price is 48$
Retail Price = 200 % * Cost Price
R.P = (200/100) * C.P
R.P = 2 * C.P
R.P = 2 * 48
R.P = 96
