He covered a third of the distance at a speed of 75 kph (kilometers per hour), a fifth of the remaining distance in one hour, and the rest of the distance at a speed of 80 kph. The distance between Haifa and Eilat is 450 kilometers. Total distance = 450km
Part 1 : one third of distance(150km) with 75kmph , total time taken = 2hrs
Part 2 : a fifth of the remaining distance(\(\frac{1}{5}\)300 = 60km), in 1 hour
Part 3 : rest of the distance (240km) with 80kmph , total time taken = 3hrs
Total time taken = 6hrs
Speed = \(\frac{distance}{time}\) = \(\frac{450}{6}\) = 75kmph
