As you may have already concluded, the information about the speeds at which they drove TO the vacation destination is irrelevant.
All we need to know is that the drive home was a distance of 100 miles, and the family drove at a constant speed of 30 miles per hour
time = distance/speed
= 100/ 30
= 10/3 hours
= 3 1/3 hours
