After the elections were botched, the country descended into a state in which the stronger can take advantage of the weaker AMIDST THE LAWLESSNESS.
The key is amidst the lawlessness, if there is no lawlessness then there is equivalently turmoil, or chaos (A,F)

The clue here is the last word of the sentence,'lawlessness'. It indicates that the country fell into a lack of any governance whatsoever. The only words that fit this bill are 'turmoil' and 'chaos'. So A,F are our options.

No, there is nothing stupid in your question. It is just a lack of knowledge. However, it is important to stick BEFORE to approach the GRE exam what is this exam.

In fact the first link you should scan through is the following: Free GRE Materials - Where to get it!! (2020)

If you go at this link the fIRST link is just what is the GRE exam overall and I strongly recommend to all the students to read https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/all-you-d ... tml#p14202

it is crucial what is and how the GRE exam is unfolded

Also see our FAQ https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/gre-study ... -3412.html

And the verbal question type during the exam https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/verbal-gr ... -3423.html

Back to the question here mentioned you have to choose TWO words that fit the blank and that gave the sentence a similar if not identical meaning. In brief, you have to choose two synonyms.

I hope this helps

Regards
