Total participants = 900
\(\frac{1}{3}\) are female
Female = 300 & Male = 600
Of the female participants, \(\frac{1}{4}\) are retired. = \(75\)
Of the male participants, \(\frac{5}{8}\) are retired = \(375\)
Total retired = \(375 + 75 = 450\)
Ratio = \(\frac{450}{900}\) = \(\frac{1}{2}\)
