Shouldn't the percentage change be: Final - original / Original? Why can't we use that here?

it depends also your starting value and end value and what the question is asking you.

I don't understand how using percent change in the numerator gets us the answer. Don't we need the actual NUMBER of customers and cost in dollars to get the correct answer?
