I would likely convert everything to decimals (as Sandy has done), but we can also convert everything to fractions.
Given:
Quantity A: 7/8 - 0.25
Quantity B: 0.325 + 1/3
For sake of convenience, let's rewrite every fraction with a denominator of 1000
Aside: 1/3 ≈ 0.333 ≈ 333/1000
So, we get:
Quantity A: 875/1000 - 250/1000
Quantity B: 325/1000 + 333/1000
Simplify:
Quantity A: 625/1000
Quantity B: 658/1000
Answer: B
