Analysis of the Logic
The passage crititques a traditional Western academic approach that views dance as an evolution from "primitive" origins to "sophisticated" European forms.
- For Blank (i): "Reverence" (deep respect) and "aloofness" (detachment) don't align with the specific critical weight of "colonialism" and "exoticism."
- For Blank (ii): To "deconstruct" or "excoriate" (damage/criticize) the idea of progress would mean the syllabus was progressive and critical, but the passage describes it as doing the opposite-reinforcing a biased hierarchy.
- For Blank (iii): "Vernacular" refers to local/native dialects or styles, and "atavism" refers to a reversal or a throwback to something ancestral. Only apotheosis captures the "peak" or "climax" implied by the term "cultural progress."

Hi

do not base the choices on your FEELING.

The sentence has its own precise logic to follow and the meaning to convey. This is the greatest error the students do
