the given equation of the straight line ax + by + c = 0
statement I : a is +ve and x intercept is +ve
to find the x intercept just put y = 0, we get x = -c/a, now a is +ve but c can be either +ve or -ve so statement I is false
statement II : b is +ve and the slope of the given equation is +ve
if we convert the given equation into an intercept form, we get y = (-a/b)x - (c/b)
from the equation we can see that the slope of the equation is -a/b, now it is not given that if a is either +ve or -ve in the statement II so statement II is false
which leaves us with statement III, which we dont have to check if it is true or false, since we have only 3 statements in which 2 are proven false.
option C is the right answer
