Hi All!This is just a random post, but a really important one
.
So, before starting your preparation on the club, I would suggest you to go through this post, this will help you to maximize the use of the features the forum has to offer you and this in turn will save you some time by not getting confused and figuring out things on your own (alone
)
.
Warning: This could be a long post, but I am sure this is worth it 1. Filter:This is the most, I mean the most important feature that member could take advantage of. What is filter? How do you use it? Refer the below image. So there are three filters available.

a. Difficulty: As it says you can find questions of varying difficulty in here.
b. Types: This includes the topics under eg. for quants you can find topics like algebra, geometry numbers etc. Similarly for verbal RC you can find long passage, paragraph argument etc.
c. Sources: This includes various sources from which questions are posted like the official guide, MGRE, Powerprep etc.
2. Timer.:I know, this is really common and you might be like, oh, I know this
. But, still you do not use it
. Let me try to show the perfect use!

Okay! So you will find something like the above, above every question. So a timer has 3-4 components which you can use.
a. Timer: Using timer for every question helps you to keep a track of your time while doing a question and logging it in the error log. This helps you by comparing the time you took vs the time others took and also the next time you solve the same you can try to beat your previous timer
c. Notes: This is an amazing feature. So for eg. If I see some new trick or way to solve a quants question, I copy it and add to notes. And later when I want to have a look at it I can visit the error log and easily find it rather than browsing through hundreds and hundreds of questions. You can use it for verbal as well, by writing what mistake did you make in a question or writing words which are similar in meaning or even words you find new and later add it to your word list.
c. Stats: This is the most satisfying part
. When I see I get a question correct which only a few handful others got correct makes me feel like yeah! I am better than the other xyz% of students and I know what tricks does ETS use in this question, but it also, discouraging when I get a question wrong when the majority of other got correct.
3.Error log :I will not talk much about this. You can find a detailed post here-
https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/gre-new-e ... tml#p689034. Kudos and Follow : I know its very unexpected of me to explain these two features but, anyway. We have many experts and smart members
and if you like their explanation or their way of presenting or solving something do give them a thumbs up
. This encourages them to be an active part of the club and post more interesting solutions. It just takes a click
Don't be so frugal for kudos.
