Re: If all the females in the Supply Chain Department [#permalink]
2
f = # of females
m = # of males
T = total # of males and females = m + f

1) all the females in the Supply Chain Department are in the age group of 35 to 44 -----------> 24% T = f

2) approximately 6% of the entire supply chain department are females --------------> f = 6% (35) = 2

0.24 (f + m) = f ------> m = 6.33

since we can't have 6.33 men, we round it to 7.

Re: If all the females in the Supply Chain Department [#permalink]
Why not A (6)?

It say 24% is in supply chain. Out of which 6% is female. i.e. 6% consists of 2 employee then remaining 18% should be 6.

Can someone explain why this is wrong. ?

Guys i think that this question does not make sense, you cannot round up a person. if there are 8.88 people in the department you should deduct that there are 8 people not 9. I don't think we could see such a question on the exam

Mike is right. This question is ambiguous.
