Remember that 0 is not positive. So if x = 3, then choices A, B, C, and D will all equal 0 and can be eliminated. Only choice E is left.
Logically, in order for (x + 3)(x + 6) to not be positive, x would have to be less than or equal to -3. But we know that this can't be the case, because x + 3 must be positive.
