A was my second choice. I did not select A because I think the nets must be appropriate for all the fish that was intended to be caught. Why is B wrong btw?

The nets captured a few more trout than they would have without the flood but did not show substantial flushing of native fish, whose ancestors had, after all, survived many larger natural floods. The biologists surmised that the native species(and most of the trout) must have quickly retreated to protected areas along the riverbank.

A) The flood had a negative effect on the river’s trout population.

A is wrong.

Ask if something still remains unclear to you.

The second question should have two answers- a and c. Am I wrong?

Consider all that apply

Could be one only, two only, three only.

In this case, the OA is only C. It is a typic format of the GRE.

For the 1st question Which line in passage implies about the fish being small and hence could escape? Cant D also be in consideration?
