Because / and k are parallel, the horizonal line creates a transversal. As a result, y = z. In addition, x + y = 180, because x and y are supplementary angles. The question stem tells you that y - x = 30. If you add these two equations together, you get 2y = 210, or y = 105. Therefore, z = 105.
