You can select smart numbers also. Lets try:

Mike, Scott, Jim, Kate, and Pete each have a different number of assignments this month. Pete has fewer assignments than Kate, Kate has more assignments than Mike, Mike has more assignments than Jim, and Jim has more assignments than Scott. Which of the following could be the person who has the median number of assignments this month for the five people listed?

P<K
Let P=10, K=20

K>M
K=20, M=12

M>J
M=12, J=9

J>S
J=9, S=6

now arrange according to assigned numbers
S J M P K

Middle values are J M P which are options C, A, E

Can you please explain.
I do not understand how could Pete have the median number of assignments since Pete has the smallest number of assignments.
I try to order them from the person holding the smallest number of assignments to the biggest number of assignment
Pete - Scott - Jim - Mike - Kate
I would probably go for B, C, and D

Good thought. In fact the wording is a bit tricky. It does not actually say that Pete has the smallest number of assignments, merely that Kate has more than he. So, there's a degree of flexibility provided there in solving once you realize that.
