If \(\frac{a}{b}=\frac{11}{6}\) and \(\frac{b}{c}=\frac{4}{3}\), then what is the ratio of a to c ?
Drill 2
Question: 10
Page: 342
Notice that
(a/b)(b/c) = a/cGiven:
a/b = 11/6 and
b/c = 4/3So,
(a/b)(b/c) =
(11/6)(4/3)= 44/18
= a/c
So, the ratio a to c = 44 to 18
On the GRE, you would be asked to express the ratio as a FRACTION.
So, we could just enter 44/18
IMPORTANT: When entering fractions on numeric entry questions, we aren't required to simplify the fraction.
So, 44/18, 22/9 and even 440/180 are all considered correct responses.
