The LCM of the numbers k and m is km
This means that k and m are co-prime numbers. => k and m do not have any factor common apart from 1. Example k can be 2 and m can be 3
The LCM of the numbers m and n is mn
This means that m and n are co-prime numbers. => n and n do not have any factor common apart from 1. Example m can be 3 and n can be 4, or m can be 3 and n can be 5
Quantity A LCM of k and n
Now, LCM(k,n) = kn when k and are co-prime. Ex, when k = 2 and n = 5. LCM(k,n) = 2*5 = 10 = kn And, LCM(k,n) < kn when k and n are NOT co-prime. Ex, when k = 2 and n = 4 then LCM(k,n) = 4 <, kn
=> Quantity A (LCM of k and n) CNA be <= Quantity B (kn) So, we need to know value of k and n to answer the question. => Information is not sufficient to answer the question.
So, Answer will be D. Hope it helps!
