standard deviation measures how far from the mean different numbers are within a set. how far do all of the unique values in the set “deviate” from the average or mean.
Even though we do know a reduction of three values and two are the same we are not able to know the impact on the SD
No info about the variation nor about how to calculate the average

Suppose, the Original List = {1 2 3 4 5 }. Range=Max-Min=5-1=4=SD
Suppose, the last 3 elements decrease by 1. That is {1 2 2 3 4}. Max-Min=4-1=3. Quant A greater.
Suppose, the 1st 3 elements decrease by 1. That is {0 1 2 4 5}. Max-Min=5-0=5. Quant B greater.
Thus Answer D.
