We need to find the value of AO and BO given the equation of the line as \(y=-\frac{13}{12}x+8\)

Let's solve the problem using two methods

Method 1: Slope

Given the equation of the line \(y=-\frac{13}{12}x+8\), we can compare it with y = mx + c to get the value of slope (m) = \(\frac{-13}{12}\)

Slope of \(\frac{-13}{12}\) means that for every 12 units increase in the value of x, there will be a corresponding 13 units increase in the value of y

=> \(\frac{AO}{BO}\) = \(\frac{13}{12}\)
=> AO > BO

So, Answer will be A

Method 2: Intercept

AO = y-intercept
BO = x-intercept

We can find the value of y-intercept by putting x = 0 in the equation
=> \(y=-\frac{13}{12}*0+8\) = 8
=> AO = 8

We can find the value of x-intercept by putting y = 0 in the equation
=> \(0=-\frac{13}{12}*x+8\)
=> x = \(\frac{8*12}{13}\) ~ 7.4
=> BO = 7.4

Clearly, AO (8) > BO (7.4)

So, Answer will be A

A is y-intercept and to y-intercept we put x=0 in the equation as y-intercept is on the y-axis and all points on y-axis will have x value as 0.

I believe it was the case of the official questions by ETS.

We no longer have at the moment, therefore, you (like everybody else) are not able to access those questions.
