Actually, the humans have corruption by themselves, just because of humans. They are venal, probably the ending scope of the human life are money. The problem becomes even more complicated due to its redundancy, considering the humans eventually are corrupt.

Do not hesitate to ask if something remains unclear.

The novel emphasizes the innate (i)_____ of all humans, show [#permalink]
The novel emphasizes the innate (i)_____ of all humans, showing how each and every character within the narrative is, ultimately, (ii)_____. This motif becomes tiresome due to its (iii)_____, however, as character after character is bribed, either explicitly or implicitly, into giving up his or her supposedly cherished beliefs.

Blank (i) Blank (ii) Blank (iii)
zealousness adroit redundancy
corruptibility cunning triviality
optimism venal subtlety

The clue is in this part of the statement, “ as character after character is bribed”. This means, first two blanks are similar and are related to corruption. And since the author mentions tiresome in the second portion, redundancy is the best fit for the third blank.

Why not "triviality" on the 3rd blank?

triviality means something which is not important. Consider a movie which shows a particular cause by deploying same characters every now and then in the movie as a result if all characters depicts the same behavior then it becomes redundant, which means exceeding what is normal.

I hope it makes sense.
