He purchased the article at 20% discount: x - 20x/100 = 80x/100 Sold in at 6,000 more than marked price: x + 6,000 And gained 50% more(not than the marked price but the price which he bought): 80x/1000 + 50((80x/100))/100 after calculation, we get x as 30,000 where x is the marked price.
