Translate the given equations: 1) (a -5 ) = (1/2)( b - 5)

(2) (a + 1) + (b + 1) = 27

Solve the two equations

b=15

Abigail next year will be one year older than Benji was 5 years ago. Thus, Quantity A is greater.

For the question, quantity B is Benji's age 3 years ago, not 5 years ago. So Quantity B is larger (Benji's age 3 years ago is 12 & Abigail's age next year is 11).
