S represents the sum of the weights of n fish in pounds. Which of the following represents the average (arithmetic mean) of the n weights in ounces? (1pound = 16 ounces)
As the sum of n fish in pounds is S pounds and 1 pound = 16 ounces then the sum of n fish in ounces will be 16S ounces.
So, average wight of n fish in onces is average=(sum of weights is ounces)/(# of fish)=16S/n.
