It is said in the question that Burma was being mismanaged, so you want a word synonym for something bad (and it should be appropriate to describe an economy). The blank and “isolation” are opposite with “power and influence.” isolation and influence are (somewhat) opposite ideas, we can expect the blank to oppose power: something like “not powerful” . hence option D Feebleness (weakness) ”
Monotony means repetition .
Opulence is opposite to economic depression and it means great wealth,luxuriousness etc..
nonchalance which means calm behaviour that suggests you do not care and recriminations which means counter accusations do not make sense in this blank
