In the diagram, the shaded region is marked by red color and since the area of the 3 circles are equal, the shaded region can clearly be observed to be area of 4 quadrants, forming up the area of 1 circle.
On the contrary, the area of the unshaded region is the uncolored portion along with the region colored in black. The uncolored portion has clearly the area of 1 circle (2 semicircles) and the black area is the extraneous area which makes the area of the unshaded region > the area of the shaded region.
Thus, B is the correct answer choice for this quant comp question.
