(a + c, b) (2a, 2b + 3) are the coordinates for 2y + x = 5
Substitute the coordinates into the equation:
2(b) + (a+c) = 5
2(2b+3) + 2a = 5
Simplify:
2b + a + c = 5
4b + 6 + 2a = 5
Using these two equations, multiply the first equation, so you can subtract the two equations to isolate c.
2(2b + a + c = 5)
4b + 2a + 2c = 10
4b + 6 + 2a = 5
-6 + 2c = 5
2c = 11
c = 11/2
