A rectangular field is 400 feet long and 300 feet wide. If a square field has, the same perimeter as the rectangular field, what is the length, in feet, of each side of the square field?

(A) 175 (B) 350 (C) 200 √2 (D) 350 √2 (E) 100 √3
Perimeter of the rectangular field = 400 + 300 + 400 + 300 = 1400 This means the perimeter of the SQUARE field = 1400 A square has 4 sides of EQUAL length. So, each side of the square must have length = 1400/4 = 350
